Ingrid Betancourt asked the Colombian Government for a huge amount of damages for her kidnap and all of her suffering... I am sure she suffered a lot… however, it seems she forgot what had happened before and after she was kidnap:
1st- BEFORE - In 2002, she was told by the Government and the officials in charge, she should not go to the distention zone* of the country because it was full of FARC and since she was a presidential candidate, she would be in danger.
2nd- AFTER - The Colombian Government expended a lot of money, time and, also, put in risk the life of the individuals that worked in the operation JAQUE in 2008.
However, she seems to have amnesia.
Why is she re-thinking her position after she publicly said she was going to sue the Colombian State for all of those damages?
Did not she think before about the consequences of doing it?
Didn’t she know that the public would react aggressively against her because of her petition?
And also, if she gets the damages she have claimed, what incentive would the Colombian Government have to save all the people that are kidnap because of their own fault???
Those damages wouldn’t exists if she hadn’t go to the ‘distention zone’.
This is something that all colombians know.
We are at war... they are the bad guys... I agree... we are the good ones...

It is a simple physical rule.
It was different for the deputies who were working at their offices and then where kidnap or killed… it is different for the simple people who is just passing by the same route and get kidnap… it is different!!!
However, if you were told by an officer: “don’t go, it is dangerous” --- would not it be different?
Colombia is not a rich country!
Now…just like -Alice in Wonderland-…. She is confronted to the reality of a world full of 'unexpected' and 'surprising' reactions.
To me:
It is not a surprise that the public reacted creating a website in Facebook for those who are against Ingrid, as it is not a surprise that people are thinking the worst of her…

I am sorry, but here again we should think of the rule...

I only, don’t understand why she is surprised.
Why is she having second thoughts about her telling the world she would sue the Colombian Government?
I sincerely, don not understand. Let's keep an eye open to see what will happen next.
